My vision has always been to elevate a beloved Bajan classic while bringing back the joy and nostalgia so many of us feel when we think about sno-cones. Almost everyone you ask can recount a childhood memory tied to sno-cones, and I wanted to recreate that feeling for adults while making new memories for today’s children. With our mix of classic flavours, fun new combinations, and popular boozy options, Funshine Sno-cones, Barbados’ first brick-and-mortar sno-cone parlour, has created a fresh, modern twist on a timeless treat.
I first heard about The Cherry Tree Trust through a family member, and at the time I was facing considerable hurdles with the capital costs needed to move the project forward. I had the idea, the passion, and the plan, but I needed help with the essential pieces that would allow me to open my doors.
Through Cherry Tree Lending, I was able to purchase two critical pieces of equipment, an ice maker and an ice crusher and complete important infrastructure work, including countertops, cupboards, and plumbing. Their support made a significant difference; without it, I would not have been able to open when I did, and reaching that milestone remains one of the biggest achievements in my journey so far.
